RYLATECH

Financial privacy is a precondition for freedom.

We do not expect it to be granted. Governments, banks, and licensed intermediaries are who it must be kept from. We build the primitives that produce it and we publish them.

01

Privacy is not secrecy.

Secrecy is what you keep from everyone. Privacy is the right to choose who you tell. Every financial law drafted this century has confused the two on purpose.

02

Financial surveillance is not a byproduct.

It is the product. The customer is the state. The delivery van is the clearing bank, the payment processor, and the licensed exchange. You are the payload.

03

Compliance is the polite word for permission.

Permission is the polite word for control. Control is what you gave away without noticing.

04

Every rule imposed on a payment protects a bank.

Every rule imposed on a market protects an incumbent. Every rule imposed on a mint protects a monopoly on trust. Read the rulebook backwards and the beneficiaries appear.

05

Code is speech.

A published algorithm is a published sentence. Some jurisdictions have said so. Others jail the author and call the sentence a crime. Both facts are true. Neither changes what the code is.

06

A published protocol is not a service.

A service is operated. A protocol is run. One has a party responsible for its outputs; the other has thousands. Regulators and journalists have spent a decade pretending the distinction does not exist. It does.

07

We do not ask.

Legitimate financial primitives do not require permission to exist. We accept the personal risk of that position. We will not trade it for a license.

08

Cypherpunks write code.

Someone has to. The state will not print it. The bank will not license it. The venture capitalist will fund it only to the exit. If the financial primitives we need are going to exist, we build them and we publish them.
